By admin

Hey there! Done with home cleaning? Office work on the spot? Kids all set? Great! But, where were you while taking care of everything around? Didn’t prioritise yourself? Not a good move! Did you know that self-care is not self-indulgence, but it is self-preservation.

Unfortunately, many of us tend to neglect self-care due to our busy schedules and daily responsibilities. But here’s the thing – neglecting self-care can actually lead to burnout, stress, and a decrease in your quality of life.

That’s why it’s crucial to make self-care a priority in your daily routine. By taking care of yourself, you’ll be able to better handle life’s challenges and enjoy a happier, healthier you. Let’s look at some of the practical self-care practices that you can incorporate into your daily life:

  1. Punctuate your day with mini-meditation: Instead, just rushing towards the day’s tasks, take out sometime for yourself with one minute awareness of your thoughts, feelings and sensations. This focused attention will help improve your quality of day spent.
  2. Go Cloud-Watching: Nature is the best therapy. But, just don’t go out in the park and run. Lie on your back, relax and watch the movements of clouds in sky. Believe us, it is a simple and relaxing activity that just rejuvenates you completely. This also helps improve skills like -creativity and imagination. Mindfulness is another benefit as it allows one to be fully present in the moment and appreciate the beauty of nature.
  3. Goof around a bit: It’s always easy to have a 5-minute break from your work schedule in a day. Take a quick dance break, or play a quick game of Solitaire. Walk outside and inhale fresh air, or simply call a friend or a family member and have a silly conversation, crack jokes. Laugh out your loudest, giving no room to stress hormones, but welcoming happy hormones – serotonin and dopamine.
  4. Declutter your wardrobe: A cluttered wardrobe can make it difficult to find the clothes you need, leading to frustration and wasted time. By decluttering and organizing your wardrobe, you can save time and make getting ready. This exercise helps you feel more centred and connect to yourself.
  5. Plan a self-date: Taking time to focus on your own needs and desires is necessary to fall in love with yourself over and over again. You can visit a museum or art gallery and spend as much as time you like. Book a massage or facial and pamper yourself to unwind. Enjoy a movie or meal you were planning from long. Savour your senses without any distractions. Spend evening at home doing something creative – cooking a meal or making a craft or pursuing a DIY project.
  6. Practice gratitude: Start a gratitude journal and write down things you’re thankful for each day. This can help you focus on the positive aspects of your life and boost your mood.
  7. Disconnect from technology: Take a break from technology and spend time in nature, read a book, or have a face-to-face conversation with a friend or loved one.

Do try these ones and embark on the journey to cultivate a more balanced and fulfilling life.
